Wrestling

My name is David DeLeon and I'm the head wrestling coach for Twelve Bridges Middle School.  I'm excited to welcome all new and returning wrestlers to the 2024/2025 season.  As always, we will open up our wrestling room to all "nuggets" (3rd-5th graders) that attend feeder elementary schools to TBMS.  During the season, our nuggets will have several opportunities to wrestle in tournaments against other wrestling teams' nuggets.  

 

For those parents who have children that are interested in wrestling, I recommend attending the parent/coach meeting.  Wrestling is a great sport that will assist your child in many facets of their lives and athletic careers.  Our wrestling program teaches our kids core values such as discipline, sacrifice, hard work, toughness, perseverance, and humility. 

 

The parent/coach meeting will be for parents of both new and returning wrestlers on 11/14 (Thursday) at 6:00 pm in the TBMS library.  In addition to parents, all wrestlers are strongly encouraged to attend this meeting.  They will be able to meet their coaches and teammates as well as hear firsthand what will be expected of them throughout the season from the coaching staff.   Parents will be provided with all necessary paperwork that must be completed and submitted, including a physical, by the first day of practice, 12/2, at 2:00 pm.  Practices will be held in the multi purpose room on Mondays from 2:00-4:30 pm and Tuesday-Friday from 3:00-5:30 pm.  There is no fee to wrestle but the district asks for a voluntary contribution of $50 (a check can be made out to "TBMS Athletics" / Memo:  Wrestling). 

 

I understand the aforementioned date and time won't work for everyone.  If that's the case, please send me an email (provided below) with your contact information as well as your child's name, age, grade level, weight, and any prior wrestling experience so I can begin compiling a roster and provide you with any pertinent information you'll need before the first day of practice.  The parent/coach meeting will answer all questions regarding the upcoming season so please save any questions for the meeting.  The coaching staff and I are excited to coach again this season and we look forward to seeing everyone on November 14th at 6:00 pm.  Thank you all for your time.
