Music & Performing Arts
The Music and Performing Arts program at Twelve Bridges Middle School offers students opportunities to explore creativity, build confidence, and develop a strong foundation in music.

Band (Beginning & Advanced)
Band is a year-long elective where students develop performance skills, learn to read music, and build a strong understanding of music theory.
Students are placed in Beginning or Advanced Band based on their experience level. A wide range of instruments are offered, including:

- Community performances
- Special events such as Sacramento Kings games and travel opportunities
Band provides students with a collaborative and engaging environment to grow as musicians and performers.
Music Appreciation
Music Appreciation is designed for students interested in exploring music without a performance requirement.
In this course, students will:
- Learn about music history and different genres
- Develop an understanding of music theory and notation
- Explore basic elements of performance and musicianship
By the end of the course, students build a strong foundation to support future musical experiences, whether in band, choir, or other musical pursuits.
